We began making soap for personal use in 2001. Since then, we've experimented with different soap types and ingredients, making good soap and some not so good soap, learning along the way. We wanted better access to quality, wholesale ingredients. So in 2005, Shaman Soapworks was born and our mom & pop soap operation became a sole proprietorship. We thought about selling our soap, but continued to make it only for ourselves, relatives, and friends. We've improved our quality and formulas significantly over the years, and now feel ready and proud to offer our soaps to the cyber world. We don't use fragrance oil for scents, but rely exclusively on essential oils. We don't use artificial coloring of any sort, and we actively seek out the finest oils and ingredients. All of our body bars contain Shea Butter. Our mission is to provide affordable, vegetable based, small-batch artisan soaps for everyday use. We started out with our Mountain Lavender soap, and branched off from there. We're a family-run cottage industry, everything is handmade and homemade in Colorado. All the soaps are approximately 3.5" x 2" x 1", designed to fit nicely in a woman's hand, and weigh between 3.25 - 3.5 ounces. Because the soap is hand poured and hand cut, there is some variation.

Our HairBar/shampoo bars focus on the hair and scalp, but are also great for all over use. Kukui Nut oil and Jojoba extract make this exotic bar a real treat, and it's especially well suited for travel. We're very proud to offer a "green" shampoo without a plastic bottle, and we're hoping to develop a stable of HairBars that feature different essential oil blends. The HairBars should really take off, and we have high expectations.
